Playdough Animals — Sculpting God's Creatures

Memory Verse "God made the wild animals." — Genesis 1:25

Learning Objective

Students will sculpt animals from playdough to celebrate the variety of creatures God created.

Lesson Content

God made so many wonderful animals! Big elephants, tiny ladybugs, slithery snakes, and fluffy bunnies. Every animal is different and special.

Today we get to be creators too! We can use playdough to make our own animals. We can roll it, squish it, and shape it into any animal we want.

When we shape animals with our hands, we can think about how God carefully designed each creature. He gave birds wings to fly, fish fins to swim, and rabbits soft fur to stay warm. God is so creative!

Hands-On Activity

Use playdough to sculpt your favorite animal. Roll balls for the body and head. Add legs, ears, and a tail. Make as many different animals as you can! Tell a friend about the animal God made that you like best.
