Standard Bearer Academy

Standard Bearer Academy is a comprehensive K-12 homeschool learning management system (LMS) that provides a complete curriculum from Pre-K through 12th grade. Every course is built on a conservative, Judeo-Evangelical Christian, and Creation-based (Young Earth/Biblical) worldview. Our platform currently offers 115 courses across 10 subjects, with over 900 individual lessons designed for homeschooling families.

Our platform is designed for Christian homeschooling families who want a rigorous, Bible-centered education for their children. It serves two primary roles: Parent/Teacher (who can assign lessons, grade essays, view student progress, and set rewards) and Student (who can work through lessons, take quizzes, and track their own progress). Whether you're homeschooling one child or several across different grade levels, Standard Bearer Academy provides structured, faith-based curriculum for every stage of learning.

Standard Bearer Academy offers 10 subjects:

• Core Subjects (all grades PreK-12): Science, Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, History & Social Studies, Bible & Scripture, and Civics & Government.
• Art & Science Projects (PreK-8th grade): Hands-on STEAM projects, experiments, and creative activities that explore God's creation through art and science.
• Technology (grades 6-12): Digital citizenship, programming, cybersecurity, data science, and artificial intelligence from a Biblical stewardship perspective.
• Creative Writing (grades 6-12): Fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and composition — writing as worship and storytelling to glorify God.
• Life Skills (grades 6-12): Financial literacy, home economics, career preparation, health and wellness, and independent living grounded in Biblical stewardship.

The platform currently offers 115 courses containing over 900 individual lessons and quizzes. Each course typically includes 6 detailed lessons and a comprehensive quiz. The curriculum spans 15 grade levels (PreK through 12th grade) and covers every subject at every applicable grade level.

All science courses are taught from a Young Earth Creationist (YEC) and Intelligent Design perspective. We affirm the literal Genesis account of creation, teach that the earth is approximately 6,000-10,000 years old, and present scientific evidence that supports the Biblical narrative. Topics like biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science are all explored through the lens of God's purposeful design. Students learn to appreciate the complexity and beauty of creation as evidence of a Creator, while also gaining strong scientific literacy and critical thinking skills.

Our history curriculum follows a Providential History approach, meaning we teach that God is sovereign over human events and that His hand can be seen throughout history. We emphasize Western Civilization as a pillar of Judeo-Christian heritage, celebrate American Exceptionalism and the Founding Fathers' reliance on Biblical principles, and trace the arc of God's plan from ancient civilizations through the modern era. Students learn to see history not as a random sequence of events, but as the unfolding of God's purposes for mankind.

Our Civics & Government curriculum teaches Constitutional originalism, the Biblical basis for government and law, the principles of limited government, individual liberty, and free enterprise. Students learn about the U.S. Constitution as it was originally intended by the Founders, explore the Biblical roots of Western law, and study comparative government systems. In high school, this includes courses on Constitutional Law, Comparative Government, and Economics & Free Enterprise from a Biblical stewardship perspective.

Art & Science Projects (PreK through 8th grade) provide hands-on, creative learning experiences. Younger students do activities like finger painting creation scenes, building bird feeders, and growing plants. Older elementary students tackle projects like building simple circuits, constructing volcanoes, and creating ecosystem dioramas. Middle school students advance to STEAM explorations including robotics, perspective drawing, bridge engineering, photography, and forensic science. Every project connects back to Biblical themes of stewardship, creativity, and wonder at God's creation.

Life Skills courses run from 6th through 12th grade and progress from foundational habits to independent living:

• 6th Grade: Personal responsibility, time management, hygiene, organization, manners, and goal-setting.
• 7th Grade: Home economics — cooking basics, nutrition, cleaning, laundry, sewing, and meal planning.
• 8th Grade: Financial foundations — budgeting, saving, tithing, avoiding debt, and wise spending.
• 9th Grade: Health and wellness — fitness, nutrition, mental health, first aid, and healthy relationships.
• 10th Grade: Career exploration — job hunting, resume writing, interviews, work ethic, and entrepreneurship.
• 11th Grade: Personal finance — investing, taxes, insurance, credit, and retirement planning.
• 12th Grade: Independent living — renting/buying a home, car maintenance, legal basics, and marriage preparation.

Elementary lessons (PreK through 5th grade) are designed to be engaging and age-appropriate. Each lesson includes:

• Memory Verse: A Bible verse related to the lesson topic for memorization and discussion.
• Learning Objective: A clear statement of what the student will learn.
• Lesson Content: Easy-to-read paragraphs explaining the topic in a way young learners can understand.
• Hands-On Activity: A practical activity, craft, or experiment that reinforces the lesson.
• Discussion Questions: Prompts for parent-child conversation about the lesson and its Biblical connections.

Middle and high school lessons are more in-depth and academically rigorous. Each lesson includes:

• Scripture Connection: Multiple Bible verses displayed in a sidebar, each with commentary explaining its relevance to the topic.
• Detailed Content: Organized into sections with headings and thorough paragraphs covering the subject matter.
• Key Concepts: A highlighted bar of essential terms and ideas from the lesson.
• Reflection Questions: Thought-provoking questions with guidance notes to help students think critically and apply Biblical principles.
• Primary Source (High School): References to historical documents, scholarly works, or foundational texts related to the lesson.

Each course includes an interactive multiple-choice quiz that covers material from all lessons in the course. PreK and Kindergarten quizzes have 6 questions, elementary grades (1st-5th) have 8 questions, and middle/high school quizzes have 8-10 questions. After submitting the quiz, students immediately see their score along with detailed explanations for each question — showing both why the correct answer is right and reinforcing the Biblical perspective. Quiz scores are saved to the student's progress record.

Yes. Students can retake quizzes as many times as they like to improve their understanding of the material. Each attempt is scored and recorded, so parents and teachers can track progress and growth over time.

Every lesson is fully accessible to browse, and you can read through the content, activities, discussion questions, and quiz material at your own pace. This allows you to prepare for discussions, gather any materials needed for hands-on activities, and ensure the content aligns with your family's educational goals.

Yes. The platform tracks completed lessons and quiz scores for each student. When a student finishes a lesson, it is marked as complete. Quiz scores (including the percentage, number correct, and individual answers) are saved and can be reviewed by parents and teachers. This progress tracking helps families stay organized and see how students are advancing through the curriculum.

Creation-based science means that all scientific content is taught from a perspective that affirms the Biblical account of creation as described in the book of Genesis. We teach that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, that the earth is young (approximately 6,000-10,000 years old), and that all living things were created according to their kinds by an intelligent Designer. This does not mean we ignore scientific inquiry — rather, we teach students to examine evidence through the lens of Scripture, evaluate competing worldviews, and develop strong critical thinking skills rooted in faith.

The curriculum was generated using various artificial intelligence tools with strict worldview guardrails in place. All content generation was required to adhere to a politically conservative, Judeo-Evangelical Christian, and Creation-based (Young Earth/Biblical) worldview. However, because AI-generated content lacks the human element, we rely on discerning parents and teachers to help review and verify the material. This is why we are in beta — we want the homeschooling community to help us refine, correct, and improve every lesson. Your feedback is invaluable to this project.

Yes, without exception. Every lesson in every subject at every grade level integrates Biblical truth. Math lessons reference God's order and design in numbers. Science teaches the wonder of God's creation. Reading and literature courses analyze texts through a Christian lens. History reveals God's providential hand. Even Technology and Life Skills courses are grounded in principles of Biblical stewardship, personal responsibility, and honoring God in all we do. Scripture verses, memory verses, and Biblical connections are woven throughout every piece of content.

Our curriculum primarily references well-known, widely-accepted translations including the English Standard Version (ESV), King James Version (KJV), and New International Version (NIV). The specific translation may vary by lesson, but all Scripture references are faithful to the original Biblical text. We encourage families to read alongside their preferred translation at home.

Standard Bearer Academy is a web-based platform that works on any device with a modern web browser — desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. No special software or apps need to be installed. Simply open your browser, visit our website, and start learning. The interface is designed to be readable and easy to navigate on screens of all sizes.

Yes, an internet connection is required to access lessons, quizzes, and track progress. The platform is entirely web-based, so you will need a reliable connection to load and navigate the content. However, once a lesson page is loaded, you can read through the material even if your connection is briefly interrupted.
