Kindergarten Art & Science Projects — God's Colorful World — Art and Discovery for Little Hands
Students will explore ramps and levers through play to learn how God gave us wisdom to create helpful tools.
God gave people the wisdom to make tools that help us do work! A ramp is a flat surface that goes up. It helps us move heavy things more easily. Have you ever walked up a ramp?
A lever is another simple tool. A seesaw on the playground is a lever! When you push down on one side, the other side goes up. God designed the world with rules that make tools like these work.
People have been using ramps and levers for a very long time. Builders may have used ramps to help build great structures. God gave people clever minds to figure out how to use these tools!
Today we will build our own ramps and levers and see how they help us move things!
Build a ramp with a flat board and some books. Roll a toy car or ball down the ramp. Try making the ramp higher — does the car go faster? Then make a lever by balancing a ruler on a block. Put a small toy on one end and press down on the other. What happens?
