Rainbow Colors — God's Promise in the Sky

Memory Verse "I have set my rainbow in the clouds as a sign of my covenant." — Genesis 9:13 (NIV)

Learning Objective

Students will learn the colors of the rainbow and create rainbow art to remember God's promise to Noah.

Lesson Content

After the great flood, God made a beautiful rainbow in the sky. It was His promise to Noah that He would never flood the whole earth again. Every rainbow reminds us of God's love!

The rainbow has special colors in order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. God put each color in its perfect place. Can you say them all?

Rainbows appear when the sun shines through raindrops. God designed light in an amazing way! When we see a rainbow, we can thank God for keeping His promises.

Today we will make our own rainbow art to remember God's beautiful promise!

Hands-On Activity

Paint a big rainbow on your paper using red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Start with the biggest arch on the outside and work your way in. Add clouds on each side. Write 'God keeps His promises!' at the top.
