Moses — God's Chosen Leader

Memory Verse "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation." — Exodus 15:2 (NIV)

Learning Objective

Students will learn the story of Moses and how God used him to deliver the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

Lesson Content

The Israelites, Abraham's descendants, had become slaves in Egypt. They cried out to God for help, and God heard their prayers. He chose a man named Moses to lead His people to freedom.

When Moses was a baby, his mother hid him in a basket in the river to save his life. Pharaoh's daughter found him and raised him as a prince! But God had bigger plans for Moses.

Years later, God spoke to Moses from a burning bush and told him to go back to Egypt to free the Israelites. Moses was afraid, but God promised to be with him. God sent ten plagues on Egypt to show His power.

Finally, Pharaoh let the Israelites go! But then he changed his mind and chased them. The Israelites were trapped at the Red Sea, but God parted the waters so they could walk through on dry ground. God saved His people in an amazing way!

Hands-On Activity
