The Teachings of Jesus — The Good Samaritan

Memory Verse "Love your neighbor as yourself." — Mark 12:31 (NIV)

Learning Objective

Students will learn the parable of the Good Samaritan and understand what it means to love our neighbors.

Lesson Content

Jesus was a great teacher! He often told stories called parables to teach important lessons. One of the most famous parables is the Good Samaritan.

A man was walking on a road when robbers hurt him and left him alone. Two people walked by and did not help. But a Samaritan man stopped, bandaged his wounds, and took care of him.

Jesus asked, 'Which of these three was a neighbor to the hurt man?' The answer was the one who helped! Jesus teaches us to be kind and helpful to everyone, even people who are different from us.
